Ways to Ease Stress and Improve your Health
Finding a routine to ease stress and improve your health will benefit you in more ways than you can imagine. For one, you’ll simply feel better on your day-to-day but you may find your productivity at work or school gets better. Your relationships with friends and family become smoother, and the health goals you had been working toward will soon be closer than ever.
Give these four tips of mine a try and see how it goes!
Eat a Healthy Plant-based Diet
A plant-based food diet, especially fresh produce and fiber rich foods can improve your health and decrease stress-related causes such as lowering cholesterol, lowering blood pressure, and helping to decrease body fat. If you aren’t ready to go fully plant-based try swapping out your morning omelet for a bowl of warm oatmeal.

My favorite oatmeal recipe
½ cup of oats
1 small apple diced
½ scoop of chocolate protein powder
1 tbsp flaxseed
1 tsp cinnamon
Make rolled oats according to directions, While it’s cooking add the apples. Cook both until apples are soft. Once in the bowl, add the protein, ground flaxseed, and nutritious cinnamon. Mix well. Then separately mix 3 tbsp of peanut powder with 6 tbsp water- mix well until creamy and a little runny. Drizzle on top of the oatmeal mixture and enjoy!
Meditation and/or breathing exercises
Meditation and breathwork have so many benefits, especially easing stress and anxiety. Having a regular practice is great to slow us down, connecting us to our breath, and providing clarity. Just like exercising is great for your body, meditation is great for your mind.

Walking or spending time outside
Nothing clears your mind better than being outside in fresh air. This is time to leave your computer and tv behind and put your phone away. Focus on the world around you. Listen to the birds and the wind in the trees. Enjoy the fresh air and the sun on your face. You’ll return home or back to work refreshed and reset.
Spending time with friends or the community
It’s a connecting factor for the longest living people on the planet that they spend time each day or each week connecting with friends or family and feel supported by their community. If you don’t have a solid friend group or community yet it’s not too late. There are ways to join groups through Facebook, exercise groups at your local community center, or check out meetup.com where you can find a group that has similar interests as you!
